This is the text of the email sent to players in lieu of a players meeting.

Hi Frostbite Doubles registrants (and waitlisters, just in case),

Just want to note a few things in advance of the tournament since we won’t be doing the traditional players meeting.

First, if you for any reason will not attend the tournament, please let me know as soon as possible (call, text, email).  If I know you’re not going to be here, I can adjust accordingly.  If not, it is a big pain in the butt.  Deadline to receive a refund for withdrawal is tonight (Friday) at 5pm.

Should some inconsiderate team fail to show up without notice on Saturday morning and you find that you are at your starting hole with no one to play with, the procedure will be to move to the hole in front and join that group (e.g. if you’re on hole 8, join the group on 9).

OB areas:

  • The property line on the left side of holes 1 and 2 is OB.
  • The property line on the right side of hole 18 is OB.
  • The pond on hole 8 is NOT OB.  It is frozen enough to hold weight, so play on.

This is a straight forward best shot doubles tournament (no other formats). Both players throw from each lie then choose the better of their two shots to determine their next lie.

We will be re-sorting groups by score for round 2. The plan is to turn around as quickly as possible (20-30 minutes after last card turned in).  Please consider bringing your lunch rather than trying to go out to get it during the break.

Parking is obviously limited due to the snow so please park as economically as possible (don’t leave half a space between cars). Parking on the street is going to be necessary for the late comers.  DO NOT PARK uphill of our driveway (mailbox side of the entrance).  Please park downhill of the driveway (dirt portion of the road) along our property line.

COVID-19 related conditions:

  • There will be no formal players meeting
  • Masks/face coverings are required in and around pro shop area
  • There will be no registering/payments day-of, including for ace pot
  • One player from each team should check in the team in the morning
  • One player from each group should retrieve scorecard from board and turn it in after round

First round groupings will be posted at http://redhawkdiscgolf.com/draganfield/frostbite-doubles by 6pm on Friday night but please check the board before heading out to your hole in the morning just in case of changes.

Last thing is payouts.  Payouts will be done electronically after the tournament. It was a required option to list preferred method and account during registration.  Many people failed to do this properly, listing only “paypal” or “venmo” without identifying an account.  If you are one of those, please go back and edit your registration with this information to ensure you receive any payouts.  Without that info, my default will be to try to send PayPal to the email address(es) the team used to register on Disc Golf Scene.  If that doesn’t work, it’s on you to let me know or you won’t get paid at all.
